How do you make a bouncy pop-in animation in DaVinci Resolve Fusion?

Make a bouncy pop-in in Fusion by animating the element's width and height as two separate keyframe sequences, offsetting the height keyframes 1–2 frames behind the width, then selecting all keyframes in the Spline editor and pressing S to apply ease-in/ease-out curves. The axis offset — not the easing alone — is what produces the organic bounce.
Build the pop-in as a multi-axis animation rather than a single uniform scale — the documented Fusion workflow (used to animate Reddit-style comment cards popping onto a desktop scene) works in five steps:

Keyframe the width first. On your widget's size controls in the Fusion tab — a background rectangle, text card, or image plate — set a keyframe at zero (or a compressed value) at the frame where the element should appear, then a second keyframe at full width a handful of frames later.

Keyframe the height on the same pattern, offset by 1–2 frames. Copy the same in-to-full sequence onto the height, but shift its keyframes 1–2 frames later than the width keyframes. This offset is the core of the technique: because the two axes never arrive at the same instant, the element visibly squashes and stretches as it lands — a genuinely bouncy, organic entry instead of a mechanical pop.

Ease the motion in the Spline editor. Open the Spline panel, select all the keyframes, and press S. This applies an ease-in/ease-out S-curve so the motion accelerates out of the first keyframe and decelerates into the last instead of moving linearly. Drag the resulting Bezier handles if you want a harder snap on the settle.

Add depth with a Quick Bevel node. Flat UI shapes read as stickers; a subtle bevel and gradient on the widget background and icon elements gives the card dimension and a polished finish as it bounces in.

Optionally finish with an Edge Detect glow. Apply DaVinci's Edge Detect as an adjustment clip, increasing edge blur and edge width at low brightness — it lays a soft glow over the animation so it reads dreamy rather than flat. Keep effects like this on their own adjustment clip so you can fade them independently of the animation itself.
The full build in the documented walkthrough took 5–10 minutes. It's worth the pass even on AI-heavy projects: if you're compositing over footage generated through the invideo agent, replacing select shots with custom Fusion animation like this is what gives the final cut a high-budget feel instead of raw generated output.
