How is agentic sound design different from an AI sound-effects generator?

Last updated September 25, 2026

An AI sound-effects generator helps you create a sound, such as footsteps, an engine, or an impact. Agentic sound design covers the larger job of adding sound to a video. The invideo agent inside invideo Editor can analyse what happens, find or generate suitable effects, place them, and make changes when you ask.

The difference is in what you can ask it to do. “Create a metallic impact” asks for one sound. “Add sound to this product video, with a metallic impact when the product lands” asks the agent to work with the video and arrange the sound.

Some generators also include syncing and timeline controls. An agent-led workflow connects those tasks, reducing the work you have to do sound by sound.

The invideo agent can build the first sound-design pass, then respond to requests such as “make the reveal stronger” or “use softer sounds here.” You can also adjust the result directly on the timeline.

For a creator example, see how to upload your own sound effects and ask the invideo agent to arrange them.
